Suvarnabhumi Airport Projects Record 67 Million Passengers in FY2026

by ZOSMA News

Suvarnabhumi Airport, Thailand’s primary international hub, is forecasting a record-breaking 67 million passengers for FY2026. This growth, along with over 397,000 flights, reflects the expanding demand for air travel to and from Thailand, especially with new international carriers such as United Airlines joining the network.

Thailand’s primary international gateway, Suvarnabhumi Airport, anticipates handling approximately 67.7 million passengers and 397,323 flights in fiscal year 2026. This projection reflects the airport’s expanding role as a regional aviation hub, bolstered by the introduction of new carriers, including United Airlines, which plans to launch flights on the Las Vegas–Hong Kong–Bangkok route.

To accommodate this surge in passenger traffic, the airport is accelerating several infrastructure upgrades. These include expanding terminal facilities, enhancing baggage handling systems, and implementing advanced security measures such as Passenger Validation Systems (PVS) and CT-scanning X-ray machines. Additionally, Automated Border Control (ABC) gates will be installed to expedite the immigration process for travelers.

These developments are part of a broader strategy to position Suvarnabhumi Airport as a leading global transit hub, supporting Thailand’s economic growth and increasing its competitiveness in the international aviation market.

With global travel continuing to recover, Suvarnabhumi is investing in the infrastructure and services needed to meet future growth. These upgrades aim to ensure that the airport can efficiently handle the projected rise in passenger traffic while maintaining a high standard of service for all travelers.
